Who Am I?
My name is Jeff Weiler (pronounced why-ler) and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. My day job is as Chief Financial Officer for a large school district in Nevada, but I am on the inside a creative at heart (or at least, want to be). I ended up in finance as a profession, for many reasons (most I have now forgotten). But it provides a good living.

Before finishing college with a Finance major and MBA, I actually was a music major. Up until a few years ago, in fact, I was fairly active as an amateur/semi-pro musician. Now, my creative outlet is photography and design. After laying off photography for 25 years or so, I again took it up again a few years ago. It is a major source of fun and relief for me.
While I don't see it becoming my primary source of income, I am now working on a part-time basis as a real professional photographer. Check out my galleries to see what types of photos I like to take and feel free to use the contact page to send me a note if you are interested in my services.
My Gear
Having started out my photography career back in college using Nikon gear (starting with an FM2), I have continued my association with that fine company. Nothing against Canon or other brands, I just like Nikon. I currently shoot with a D700 body and a range of wide-angle to tele-photo zoom lens. My favorites being the 85mm f/1.4 and the 14-24mm f/2.8. In my case, the gear is not the limiting factor. As Scott Bourne always says, 95 percent of all cameras are better than 90 percent of the photographers (or something like that).
